University of Arkansas Takes Home Intermodal Case Study Trophy
LONG BEACH, CA (September 17, 2026) 鈥撯�疶he University of Arkansas took the number one spot at the 最新麻豆视频's 2026 Academic Challenge. It was their first win.
The students representing the university were Abbie Hutto, Drew Pierce, Stone Sawyer and Natalie Olinger. This year鈥檚 case, 鈥淎tlantic and Western Railroad,鈥� tested students with a real-world scenario, how to maximize the profit of a hypothetical rail line while addressing intermodal service requirements.鈥�
The twelve competing scholarship schools were Cal Poly Maritime Academy, Georgia Southern University, Mississippi State University, SUNY Maritime, Texas Tech University, as well as the Universities of Arkansas, Maryland, North Florida, North Texas, South Florida, Tennessee, Knoxville and Wisconsin at Superior. Both Texas Tech and University of South Florida are new Joanne F. Casey Scholarship Program participants and first-time competitors.

In addition to the annual case competition, 最新麻豆视频鈥檚 scholarship awards support year-round direct tuition, curriculum, research projects and experiential learning opportunities designed to attract students to intermodal transportation and related careers. Since the Scholarship Program's inception in 2007, 最新麻豆视频 has provided over $6 million to support students in university programs focused on freight and intermodal transportation. This includes over $865,000 in 2026, the highest yearly award to date.
