CALVERTON, MD (July 16, 2026) 鈥� The U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions (HELP) will today consider the nomination of Keith Sonderling to serve as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Labor. The 最新麻豆视频鈥檚 President and CEO Anne Reinke offered the following statement in advance of the nomination hearing:
"We appreciate the Administration鈥檚 commitment to providing leadership at the Department of Labor. Among the Department鈥檚 most pressing priorities is finalizing the proposed rule that would preserve the ability of independent contractors to remain self-employed. This rulemaking is particularly important to the intermodal freight industry, as approximately 80 percent of drayage drivers have chosen to be independent contractors because it offers the flexibility to select their hours and routes. Surveys of these drivers consistently show that mandatory reclassification would prompt most independent drayage drivers to leave the trucking industry, resulting in significant capacity concerns. We urge the Department of Labor to finalize this rule and protect the men and women who keep America鈥檚 supply chains moving."
